Google Nexus One and HTC Supersonic 4G smartphone heading to Sprint

The Nikon GP-1 is that company's first foray into geotagging, the process by which specific geographical information is embedded within digital photos. Unlike stand-alone GPS units that offer extra functions, the GP-1 just embeds latitude, longitude, altitude, and time information data to photos as they're taken. The unit attaches to a Nikon SLR's hot shoe flash connector, and derives its power from the camera directly.

The unit takes 45 seconds to acquire a satellite fix from a cold start, and only 5 seconds from a hot start. The Nikon GP-1 is compatible with the D90, D200, D300, D3, and D3X, and measures 2 inches long by 1.8 inches wide by 1 inch thick.
