Toshiba's BDX2000 Blu-ray disc player isn't remarkable in any sense beyond the fact that it is the first Toshiba Blu-ray player. Toshiba was once the prime advocate for the competing HD-DVD format, but since that lost out in the end, the manufacturer has finally jumped on the Blu-ray bandwagon.

Specs and features are standard fare: 1080p playback optionally at a film-like 24 frames per second, BD-Live Profile 2.0, AVCHD playback, an SD card slot, REGZA-LINK (HDMI-CEC), and Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio sound.

Look for the BDX2000 in November at the price of $249.99.
