The TiVo Series2 is a DVR device from one of the innovators of the field, TiVo. The Series2 is a dual tuner TiVo which means that you can record programming off of two separate channels even if they're airing simultaneously. However, this TiVo model does not support HD broadcasts, though, like the TiVo HD and HD XL.
The Series2 TiVo can record up to 80 hours of non-HD material, and has the usual compliment of TiVo features. Users can pause live broadcasts, fast forward or rewind recorded material, or use the Season Pass feature to record any broadcast of a particular program.
A feature to note is that the Series2 can be wirelessly networked to your home network. By doing this, users can connect any two TiVo units on the same network so a program started in the kichen can be finished in the living room.

I just snagged a Series2 through a half-price deal on TiVO's web site. Their marketing copy is a little misleading -- you can't actually record off of two different channels unless you have cable, or if you get your local channels through cable and the rest through satellite. (Who does that?)
Also, many of the networking features are only available if you purchase their $25.00 TiVO Desktop Plus software... which is worth it for cool stuff like taking podcasts and movies from your computer and watching them on your TV. Still, it would be good if TiVO spelled out the extra expense and the limitations from the start.
