Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Hitting the market in 2006, the Slingbox AV is a media networking hub that enables users to receive audio/video playing from home on whichever screen they happen to have handy elsewhere. The accompanying software, SlingPlayer, was originally only compatible with Windows XP, but subsequent updates have brought it to Vista, Macs, and the Palm Treo 700p. The box takes a variety of inputs (including a DVR box, DVD player, and digital cable) and can stream video to another device within the home network, or it can send video out through the internet to wherever the user can find a broadband connection. The viewing software creates a graphic of the appropriate remote for the user's TV, DVR box, or DVD player. An S-Video, a component video, and a LAN network cable round out the ports.
