Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Samsung's BD-P2500 is a BD-Live-enabled Blu-ray player with 7.1-channel analog audio output. The device supports xvYCC Deep Color signals with its HDMI 1.3 output, and uses Samsung's HQV chip for DVD upconversion and Blu-ray picture processing. To save online content for BD-Live titles, the P2500 includes one gigabyte of flash storage, with greater capacity available through the player's USB port. The device can decode Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and dts audio, with dts-HD HR support promised via a Q4 2008 firmware upgrade (no dts-HD MA decoding is expected, requiring a separate A/V receiver for support).

In addition to the HDMI port, the P2500 does analog out over component and composite cables for compatibility with older sets. AVCHD support lets the player display video from high definition digital camcorders when recorded to DVD blanks. When used with other Samsung home theater components, the device can control them through its HDMI connection.
