Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

The Roku HD-XR media player streams video and audio content from your home computer and the internet. It can even stream Netflix Watch Instantly videos.

It's a small box with a remote (most of the interface is in the software) and component and HDMI out for connecting to your HDTV. The HD-XR supports 802.11n Wi-Fi, whereas its predecessor the $30-cheaper Roku HD only supports 802.11g. That should make for some smoother HD streaming, but if you have good signal 802.11g is probably good enough.

If you want the extra speed, though, you can pick this one up today for $129.
