The first of Pioneer's Blu-ray players to be released in the US, the BDP-HD1 is a high-end player released by Pioneer on January 15th, 2007. The HD1 plays both regular DVDs and Blu-ray discs at up to 1080p and allows for media streaming through an ethernet connection. However, the HD1 doesn't play CDs, requiring you to buy another media player if you want to also play music discs through your television. The HD1 also lacks HDMI 3.1 support and is rather expensive for lacking CD support. The HD1 measures 16.5 by 3.7 by 14.1 inches and weighs 13.9 pounds.
