AMEX's Venice-V38HD is an HD media player, capable of backing up your DVDs, ripping CDs, and recording content with 1080p video quality. It uses a Sigma Design SMP8635/4 chipset and comes with 2 TB worth of storage space for storing your movies and music. In addition to the HDMI output, the Venice-V38HD has a component, composite, and S-video connection. The player supports a large number of video formats and codecs, inlcuding M2TS, AVI, MKV, WMV, MPG, ISO,VOB, IFO, MP4, and ASF for formats and H.264 (BP@L3, MP@4.0 and HP@4.0), MPEG-1/2/4, XVID, WMV9 (MP@HL), and AVC(HD) for codecs. You also get support for networking capabilities like NAS. No word on prices so far.
