Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Announced alongside the Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray player, the HT-SS360 is a wireless 5.1 channel home surround sound system. It features a standard six speaker package with a receiver to process the audio and send it out. This is not a high-end set, but it's designed for the average home theater user who just wants the surround sound experience and a strong output — 1,000 watts, in this case.

It can pump out sound via the Dolby TrueHD or DTS configurations – fewer than you'll find on many competing products – but as we said, if you have a BD-S360 you've nothing to worry about, since that player supports those formats. Connection pluses include three HDMI ports for delivering 1080p video, and a DM port for plugging in Sony accessories such as a Wi-Fi dongle. Another bonus is a technology called Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, which detects factors like speaker distance and configures your setup automatically based on what it finds. It also supports BRAVIA Sync tech.

The HT-SS360 has a sister product, the HT-SF360. The only difference is that the HT-SF360 features floor-standing speakers (tall tower-like rectangles), while the HT-SS360 comes with more discrete satellite speakers.
