The Ion Audio Tailgater is an iPod docking system designed for durability and built along the same lines as a portable guitar amp. The system accepts any iPod along with the iPhone and the iPod Touch, and lets you attach microphones and instruments if you feel like accompanying the songs. If you are at a location where plugging the Tailgater in is difficult, the system is also equipped with a battery that provides up to eight hours of playback. Prices start at $199.
