Sharp's Aquos DX series is the first to offer LCD Tvs with a built-in Blu-ray recorder, ranging from 26-inches to 52-inches in size. All models feature a Digital W Tuner that allows consumers to record in H.264/AVC format and watch TV at the same time, though it remains to be seen if Blu-ray discs are a more functional option than DVR set-top boxes. While the 37 through 52-inch models have a 1920x1080 resolution, a brightness of 450cd/m2, and a 2000 : 1 contrast ratio, the 32-inch LC-32DX1-B drops down to a resolution of 1366x768, and a 1,500 : 1 contrast ratio. With the same 20 watt audio output available in larger sizes and the standard array of connectivity options including HDMI (two), VGA (two), a DVI, an S-Video, composite (three) and analog RGB inputs, black, white and red versions ship with the rest of its siblings on November 20th to Japan.
