The Samsung UE55B9000 is a 55-inch HDTV with LED backlights with localized dimming and Medi@2.0 with YouTube/Yahoo widgets. Local dimming allows for a much better contrast on the television because the LEDs are placed in zone and controlled locally rather than on the sides of the LED panel.
The television is reportedly connected wirelessly to an external media box, which allows for the screen to be much slimmer than if it was built in. A built-in USB port on the television allows you to watch your own home videos, as well as play music and view pictures on the screen. You can also stream media directly to the set from any PC that is connected to your wireless network.
The Samsung UE55B9000 was announced along with a 46-inch Samsung UE46B9000. No word yet on pricing or availability for either television.
