The Philips FlatTV 7000 series HDTVs are eco-friendly LCD displays with 120 Hz refresh rates and, more notably, two-millisecond response times. You can use them to watch Blu-ray movies and other applicable content at 1080p FullHD resolution, as expected from just about any HDTV these days.
The TVs are arguably "eco-friendly" because they (according to Philips) exceed the standards required for Energy Star 3.0 ratings, and because they feature automatic backlight dimming to reduce power consumption. Philips claims that these TVs are 59% more power efficient than their predecessors when turned on.
Philips also brags that its 2009 models are 40% thinner than 2008's models. Other features: four HDMI ports, "Pixel Perfect HD technology," and USB connectivity.
The 47PFL7704D is the 47-inch, mid-range model in the series; its suggested retail price is $1,799, with a release date sometime in July of 2009.
