The iPad has landed.

The Z1 (part of the VIERA product family) is billed as Panasonic's flagship 2009 PDP HDTV. At $6,000, it's obviously not for you if you're just looking for a regular ol' HDTV to watch DVDs and American Idol.

The specs are of course top notch: it's only one inch thick, it has a 40,000:1 native contrast ratio, and it's 1080p (like you would expect anything different), but what really sets it apart and arguably justifies the price is its wireless functionality. It can connect to your home's Wi-Fi router and stream HD movies via Amazon Video on Demand without a set-top-box, along with a few other features in Panasonic's proprietary VIERA Cast network interface.

The Z1 also has an SD card slot, the ability to play AVCHD content, and a 600Hz sub-field drive. It's available now through online and local retailers.
