Following the previous LG60 and LG70 models, the Scarlet LG80 features 3.1 channel surround sound and hidden speakers which expand when the system is turned on then retract upon shutdown. This internal audio system produces a 50-watt output with a total of four speakers, including a woofer on the back of the system. The 1080p full HDTV uses glare reduction and AV modes to improve picture quality,

From USB 2.0 to HDMI 1.3 connections, the system has ports for accessing external formatts such as MP3 files or gaming consoles.  Other Scarlet LGs range from 32-inch to 52-inch screens, although precise dimensions for the LG80 have not yet been released. Pricing and availability are restricted to countries outside Europe and North American, where the release date is set for October 2008. No word yet on American shipment dates or prices.
