When we first saw LG's Objet 15-inch AMOLED TVs on display at CES 2009, we were impressed with the deep blacks and killer contrast ratio.
Thanks to the AMOLED display technology, the TV is paper-thin and razor-sharp; at only 0.83 inches thick, it has a 720p-friendly display resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It should live for about 20,000 hours before dying down — which is not bad at all, considering that short lifespan is the most significant downside of the technology. Released images show HDMI and USB connections.
The TV is now shipping in Korea, where it costs ₩3,000,000, or about $2,600. That's not cheap for 15 inches, that's for sure. We're not sure exactly when it's coming out in Europe or North America, but Reuters says sometime in 2010 for the former.
