Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Debuting at CES 2009, the LG LHX is a 54.6-inch HDTV promising a 1080p resolution, 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Its wireless link allows uncompressed HD video to be streamed to the screen from a compatible LG tuner or media player. Less than an inch thick at its thinnest point, the LHX uses an array of LEDs behind the entire desplay rather than being lit from the edges like many slim displays, which LG says allows for dimming specific parts of the backlight and giving the appearance of deeper black levels. It has four HDMI inputs, plus a USB port for viewing photos or playing MP3s music from a USB storage device or digital camera.
