Revealed at CES 2009, LG's LH50 Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV features Ethernet capabilities that allow users to access video and extra content directly via an online connection to such applications as Netflix Instant Streaming, Yahoo! Widgets, and YouTube, in addition to movies and music that may be stored on a home computer network. The LH50 can also connect to external devices through a USB 2.0 connection for playing MP3 music and showing JPEG images, though for HD viewing the device is equipped with four HDMI 1.3 ports. The HDTV also has an intelligent sensor intended to improve brightness quality, low energy requirements, and ISFccc capabilities.
The LH50 series will be released in 47 and 42-inch sizes, though only the 47LH50 47-inch version is currently available at an MSRP of $1,999. LG says to expect the 42-inch version to hit in late summer 2009.
