Hitachi's 42-inch P42H401 plasma display sports what Hitatchi calls "ClearWindow technology," which adjusts the picture based on ambient lighting conditions. The P42H401 has other standard features HDTV buyers have come to expect, like a built-in ATSC/NTSC tuner, noise reduction, histogram processing, automatic 3:2 film enhancement, 16-bit color capability, and QAM-digital-cable compatibility. The TV also features three preset color temperatures, six high definition display modes, as well as six standard definition modes.
