British company Cello has made an unusual move with its PVR Freeview model TV; live television is recorded to a swappable SD card instead of a built-in hard drive.
That's really the biggest surprise here, but it's still unusual in other ways. For example, reports are that the TV's native resolution is 1440 x 900. As such, it doesn't support FullHD 1080p, so there's no need to connect to stuff via HDMI — good news, since the PVR Freeview doesn't have an HDMI port. However, it does have a built-in DVD player, so that's something.
The TV comes in three modest sizes — 22, 26, and 32 inches. Cello is planning to release the 26-inch model in the European market in July at a price of £399.99 ($657).

Hi. My name's Rob Smith and I work for Cello. Our new PVR TVs with SD cards do have HDMI sockets! As HD ready TVs the 26" and 32" models have two, whilst the 22" model has one.
