The TomTom 340S GPS has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and comes loaded with full maps of North America (including Mexico) with seven million points of interest pre-loaded so you can find information about restaurants, gas stations, and attractions in a particular area you might be driving through. The portable navigation system speaks directions to you so you can focus on the road, and incorporates TomTom's IQ Routes Technology and Advanced Lane Guidance features, both of which were previously only available in higher-end models. The IQ Routes suggest routes typically only know by locals to a particular area, and the Lane Guidance feature provides you with more detailed information at complex road junctions so you can stay safe while driving in difficult space.

The GPS has the TomTom Map Share feature that allows you to make adjustments to maps on the device and share those changes with other TomTom users, and has a Help Me! Feature, which provides you with safety and emergency services information should you get in a bind and need those services while you're on the road.

The TomTom 340S will be available in April 2009 for $249.99. The company also offers the TomTom 340 for $20 less that will not speak directions to you, and the 140/140S that have a smaller 3.5-inch screen taht is not a touchscreen.
