The Magellan Triton 2000 is a ruggedized, handheld global positioning system. One of its most unique features is that it is the first handheld GPS to offer onscreen display of topographical National Geographic Maps. This unit also is water-submersible, and has a built-in 2-megapixel digital camera that allows you to associate photographs with points of interest. The Triton 2000 has expandable SD memory slots to store those photos, supporting up to 4GB of external storage.
The Magellan 2000 is also equipped with a flashlight as well as a speaker and microphone.This unit measures 5.75 x 2.5 x 1.125 inches, has a 2.7-inch QVGA screen, a 3-axis electronic compass, and a built-in barometer, functions fairly typical of high end handheld GPS devices in this price range. For use in an automobile, the Magellan 2000 features an external antenna receptor so that users can plug in an existing antenna for even more accurate and expansive reception while driving.
