Google Nexus One and HTC Supersonic 4G smartphone heading to Sprint

The Asus R710 is a portable GPS unit whose claim to fame is its PathFinder Heads-up Display that projects navigational instructions onto the windshield in front of the driver. The goal with the HUD is to eliminate many of those neck movements back and forth from the road to a mounted GPS unit which introduce some factor of safety concern particularly at high speeds. The slim 13.5mm device weighs a light 200g and includes a 5-inch touchscreen for control with an auto light sensor for automagic optimization of the LCD backlighting. The R710 includes USB 1.1 connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0 handsfree calling support which complements the HUD's goal of minimizing interaction with the device while actually driving. The device also doubles as a mini-entertainment center with an MP3 player, video playback and picture browsing support, with 2GB onboard storage and a microSD slot accepting memory cards up to 8GB.
