XrossMediaBar (XMB)
The XMB, or Xross Media Bar, is a proprietary user interface employed by Sony in many of its devices, most notably the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable video game consoles.
When using the XMB, you scroll across a horizontal list of categories. Once you settle on one, you can scroll vertically between various user interface options — for example, "Play DVD" or "Install game." You can use the device's primary selection button to choose an option, or on some devices, you can press alternate buttons for more options.
