Xenon Flash

A xenon flash is a type of camera illumination, typically found in most cameras and in some higher-end cell phones. Xenon flashes produce a full spectrum of light and, in cell phones, are generally brighter than their LED-based counterparts. Phones targeted toward taking higher quality pictures, like Sony Ericsson's K850i, often tout Xenon flashes as a major feature since the enhanced illumination creates higher quality photos.

Xenon flashes are standard for most cameras, and are also used in ring flashes to help produce shadowless photography.
