Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Xbox LIVE

Xbox LIVE is Microsoft's internet service for the Xbox 360 gaming console (as well as formerly for the original Xbox). It is a service that allows for players to connect to each other for online play through a matchmaking server. It also includes services such as a friends list, the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and the Xbox LIVE Arcade. With the release of theNew Xbox Experience on November 19, 2008, users can now also stream Netflix movies on their Xbox 360 through their Xbox LIVE Gold membership. There are two different levels of membership: Silver and Gold. Silver allows access to the friends list, profiles, messaging, and Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Gold allows for online multiplayer, feedback, early access to content through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and Netflix streaming. Silver is free for any Xbox 360 owner, and Gold costs approximately $50 per year. Xbox LIVE's rough equivalents for the other consoles are PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for Wii and DS.
