Word processor
A word processor is a computer application for typing, editing, and formatting text. Microsoft Word is the most prolific word processor in the United States, but there are several others that are used commonly such as Open Office’s word processor. Typically, word processor files are saved with the .doc, .txt, or .rtf file extensions. Some applications have more complicated functionality. For example, Microsoft Word allows users to track the changes they make to a document as they edit it or add pictures and spreadsheets to their files.
