WMA

WMA, short for Windows Media Audio, is a proprietary format developed by Microsoft and used in its Windows Media Player line of software. Along with the desktop implementation of WMA, many portable media players support the standard. WMA offers several features integrated into the standard, like support for Digital Rights Management (DRM,) defining how the media can be used. WMA files are typically used with PlaysForSure compatible music services and other subscription-style services, since the integrated DRM can define when songs are no longer playable.
