Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

VGA

VGA, short for Video Graphics Array, is a term which refers to both a style of connector and a resolution. VGA rose to prominence in the late 1980s as part of IBM's PS/2 systems. VGA connectors have become the lowest common denominator for connecting computers to computer monitors, though VGA has been superseded in features by both DVI and HDMI.

As a resolution, VGA is 640 pixels tall by 480 pixels wide. As operating system developers are unsure which resolution to display before a graphics driver is loaded, most splash screens are rendered at 640 x 480.
