Ultraportable

Ultraportable is a designation for laptops which have portability as their primary feature. Also referred to as ultra-mobile computers (UMPCs) or subnotebooks, ultraportable devices forgo some performance capabilities and features (such as optical drives and screen size) in order to minimize their overall size and weight. Screens are typically smaller than 14 inches and the weight is typically around or below 2 pounds. These devices are marketed primarily to students and business travelers – those who most need to be mobile while computing.
