Tablet PC

A Tablet PC is a laptop computer in which the primary method of input can be using a pen or stylus to draw directly on the display device. Tablet PCs have picked up in popularity for manufacturers since Windows XP Tablet Edition was released 2002, which added handwriting recognition along with gestures to the operating system.Tablet PCs are no longer a technical feat, as the requirements behind a basic touchscreen tablet have dropped in price, however typically tablet PCs only allow single touch input, preventing iPhone-like gestures that users are beginning to expect.

While manufacturers like HP, Dell and Lenovo manufacture tablet PCs as part of their laptop lines, the only available tablet PC on the Mac side is available from a third party manufacturer called Axiotron who produces the ModBook. The ModBook takes a traditional MacBook and adds a touch screen to the display, while eliminating the keyboard.
