RSS
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It's a protocol for getting regular updates of information (usually news stories, audio files, videos, or images) from all over the internet. An RSS document is stored on a web server that automatically stores all new pertinent updates — for example, the blog posts on a particular website. To access this information, you use something called a "feed reader," a "crawler," or just an "RSS reader." These web or desktop-based programs regularly check the RSS documents (or "feeds") to which you've subscribed and provide you with all the new content, properly dated and formatted, so you don't have to go out and check for yourself.
