Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Region-locked

Reigon-locking occurs when software can not be used in another region besides the one the software was designed for without tampering. While many different forms of reigon locking occur, typically DVD movies, game console software, and game console hardware see the most examples of region locking. Companies often see region locking as a way to ensure their business plans are carried out correctly in each individual market. Gray market retailers often sell kits to defeat region locking, though some have argued these kits are illegal under the terms of the United States Digital Millenium Copyright Act, as they typically also open the software for copying.
