Recommender engine
A recommender engine is a computer application or web application that uses information from users in order to recommend content to them based on their preferences. Shopping sites like Amazon employ recommender engines to suggest similar or related products to customers that have just made a purchase or have a particular purchase history. For example, a shopper purchasing the first movie in a trilogy, would likely get the second and third films suggested to them.
