Plasma TV

Plasma flat panel display, or Plasma TV, is a type of television display that utilizes tiny cells containing a mixture of noble gases to produce light. Plasma TVs are an alternative to a traditional (Cathode Ray Tube) television display as the television increases in size because a greater screen size necessitates a larger and more bulky tube contributing to a heavier and deeper television. The plasma display uses electrically excited gases in individual cells coated with a phosphor (metal that will glow when exposed to an energy source) to produce each pixel. Each pixel has three separate colored phosphors corresponding to red, green, or blue, such that one of these subpixels or a combination of each will represent a part of the image being displayed.
