PCI-X
PCI-X is an acronym for PCI Extended, or Peripheral Component Interconnet Extended, is a computer bus technology that regulates data transmission within a computer system. The PCI-X offers speeds as high as 1 GBps at 133 MHz to help high bandwidth devices such as Gigabit Ethernet run more smoothly without consuming too much bandwidth. The PCI-X technology is backwards compatible and has some error detection ability that allows it to turn off cards in advance of computer failure.
