PCI Express

PCI Express (abbreviated PCIe or PCI-E) is a type of a computer bus and expansion slot form factor that was designed to replace its predecessor, PCI. PCI stands for peripheral component interconnect, and can be thought of as a device that routes data in your computer. Rather than routing data via a shared parallel bus, PCI Express is built around a point-to-point “serial” link architecture for routing data.
