NiMH rechargeable battery

NiMH, which is short for nickel-metal hydride, is a type of rechargable battery using a hydrogen-absorbing alloy instead of a cadmium-absorbing alloy (as in NiCd batteries) for the negative electrode. This allows for the battery to be recharged regularly. For standard-sized replaceable batteries, such as AA and AAA, NiMH are quite common and are used in a variety of devices, from cameras to gaming controllers. However, lithium ion batteries are more common for large batteries that are unique to a device, such as portable media player and laptop batteries.
