IMEI
IMEI is an acronym short for International Mobile Equipment Identity, and is a unique identifying number found in GSM cellular phones. IMEI numbers identify a phone as unique, and allows carriers to track the phone. IMEI numbers don't have any relationship in identifying the owner of a device, typically subscribers are identified by the IMSI number stored in a SIM card. The CDMA equivalent of IMEI is called MEID, but MEIDs also define subscriber details along with equipment details.
