Hertz
Hertz, commonly abbreviated as Hz, is a measure of the frequency of a wave or other repetitive action. It is also defined as the number of cycles-per-second that an object goes through, with 1 Hz equaling 1 cycle-per-second. An example of Hertz in a wave context is as applied to describe radio and audio frequencies. An example of Hertz being used to define a repetitive action is the description of a computer's CPU clock speed, or an LCD TV's refresh rate defining how many frames per second it is able to display. The most common forms of Hertz are Hertz (Hz), Kilohertz (KHz), Megahertz (MHz), Gigahertz (GHz), and Terahertz (THz).
