FM Tuner

An FM tuner is a device designed to pick up Frequency Modulation radio channels, usually located alongside AM capabilities in traditional radios. FM tuners can also be included either as a plug-in accessory or a built-in component in computer systems, home entertainment devices, mobile media players, and mobile phones. For larger devices FM tuner cards can be purchased to give notebooks or PCs FM radio capabilities, while the feature is becoming a more common function in modern cell phones, especially smartphones. Phones with FM tuners may include speakers to play radio stations aloud or RDS technology for receiving additional information about songs, traffic information, and commercials. Frequency Modulation tuners pick up only local radio channels.
