Fast Ethernet (IEEE 802.3u)

A member of the ethernet networking family, Fast Ethernet refers to a wired connection whose maximum bandwidth in Mbps or megabits per second is 100 Mbps. Fast Ethernet uses Category 5 twisted pair cabling similar to both 10 Mbps and 1000 Mbps ethernet, and is also referred to by its Ethernet Standard name IEEE 802.3u.
