Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

DisplayPort

DisplayPort is a newly implemented standard for connecting video devices to displays. Implemented as a royalty-free standard, DisplayPort offers several advantages over DVI and HDMI. Most notably, DisplayPort can accommodate higher resolutions using a single cable than HDMI or DVI, and also has a standard connector that some cite as more simple to connect than DVI. While primarily touted as a next generation computer display technology, little is dissuading consumer electronics manufacturers from supporting DisplayPort as a connection to TVs or other consumer electronics components.
