CES

CES stands for the International Consumer Electronics Show. CES is a trade show that is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January. Generally, it is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, but the scope of the show necessitates the utilization of additional, satellite venues. It has been held every year since its inception in 1967 in New York City, and is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The average number of attendees is between 100,000 and 200,000 people. Notable past technological announcements at previous CES events include: the VCR, the camcorder, the compact disc, the DVD, HDTV, and the DVR.
