Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Aero

Windows Aero is the default user interface and aesthetic of Microsoft's Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. It is part of all versions of Vista except for Home Basic, and all versions of 7. It replaces Windows XP's Luna interface, adding scalable window transparency, live video thumbnails, and other visually appealing elements to soften the Windows experience. It also includes a few new ways to sort through information.

In Windows Vista, Aero includes Flip 3D, an alternative to the classic "Alt Tab" keyboard shortcut to switch between active windows. Flip 3D cycles through live previews of all open windows in 3D. In Windows 7, even more features are added, including Aero Peek, which lets you preview a window by moving over its place on the taskbar, and Aero Shake, which minimizes all but your selected window via a mouse gesture.
