A2DP

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) allows high quality audio to be streamed wirelessly from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection.

In practical use, A2DP is normally a feature of various cellphones and wireless headsets whereby the two devices can communicate with one another, allowing consumers to listen to music streaming from their phones in stereo wirelessly to their A2DP Bluetooth headsets.

Technically, A2DP is a Bluetooth profile standard that defines how these types of connections between devices should occur, ensuring that every A2DP capable phone should function with every A2DP capable headset regardless of manufacturer.
