2160p
2160p is a high definition television resolution consisting of 2160 lines of horizontal pixels displayed in progressive scan (hence the p). Also known a Quad Full High Definition, so called because the display of a 2160p television (3840 x 2160 resolution) has four times the number of pixels in a 1080p, 2160p is the next evolution in high definition television, and while there is no content that demands such a resolution, excitement surrounding the predicted 2015 arrival of QFHD continues to build. The cost of a QFHD television will be significantly greater than that of existing 1080p televisions, as evidenced by the 52 inch 2160p television produced by Westinghouse is reportedly going to be sold for around $50,000 US.
