Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

On December 3rd, 1994, the Sony Corporation released its first 32-bit home game console, the PlayStation, in Japan; the unit would be released in North America on September 9th, 1995. The PlayStation utilized a CD-ROM format to play its games, and kept game save information on memory cards containing 128 KB of space. A later version of the console, called the PS One, was released on July 7, 2000, featuring a smaller form factor and an optional LCD screen. The PlayStation's main competitors at the time of its release were the Sega Saturn and the Nintendo SNES, and later the Nintendo 64 and to some extent the Sega Dreamcast competed with the machine. Sony would stop production on the console on March 23, 2006, after having sold 102 million units.
