Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Sony's PSP-3000 is the second revision to the PSP portable gaming system hardware, improving screen quality and adding a microphone. The 3000 has the same form factor as the second generation PSP, the Slim and Lite PSP-2000, keeping the same screen size and resolution. Sony's improvements are in color reproduction, which now has higher contrast and a wider gamut, and in reducing glare. Though the new screen draws more power than the Slim and Lite's, Sony claims to have offset any battery life hits by reducing power consumption elsewhere in the system.

The new microphone supports wireless communications, including a Skype client. Sony is also making a minor tweak to the PSP's video output, enabling the 3000 to generate interlaced video for compatibility with older, non-HDTV sets. The system is available as part of a bundle, including Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, National Treasure 2 on UMD, and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo.
