The XL is identical in design to the original DSi in most every way, differing only in scale; it's significantly larger at 4.2 inches. The bigger system is designed for gamers with larger hands, specifically those 25-and-up.
All DSi XLs play existing Nintendo DS and DSi games and retain the dual-screen, stylus-driven control scheme, along with the microSD expansion slot, the headphone jack, and all the other features you already know.
The DSi XL began shipping November 21st in Japan for ¥20,000 (around $220), and it will reach Europe and North America this March. England gets the handheld on the 5th, while US customers can buy the DSi XL starting March 28th, for a reduced price of $190.
